Sudan Is an Asset, not a Target

Hey everyone! This is my first time blogging, so please be gentle. You know, with the replies.

Actually, I take that back; I like criticism to be rough.

That having been said, this article I found on truthout caught my attention, particularly with all the speculation on Sudan and the political exploitation of it. To put it simply, the Sudanese government, as if they weren't sociopathic enough, has been working with the CIA to fight the Iraqi insurgency. More info here:

It's stuff like this that would make some of sources on the facebook group, Standing Against the Political Opportunism and Manipulation of DARFUR almost funny. Don't get me wrong; I like what the group stands for, but I'm thinking they might be a bit ahead of themselves.

But what do I know? Of course Bush has a secret plan to invade Sudan within the next year and stop the civil war solely for the sake of contracting corporations. You know, that plan he's been working on for three years? Mmm-hmm? Said in wouldn't happen on his watch? Yep! Probably got a...nice little military action plan there, yep? Maybe going to...target some major military installations first...and...um...then move in on the ground to set up some supply lines...yep! Heard that three years ago. Probably have some, you know, backup from the UN this time? Mmm-hmm! Maybe even, umm...bring some peacekeepers along to try to secure one region at a time, yep? Been working on that for three years after all! Then when a new government is in place, maybe focus on getting utilities back on line, mm-hmm? Then when all's said and done, contractors will be richer for the experience and we can take on Congo from there? Yep? Mmm-Hmm? After three years, something's gotta happen pretty soon, right?
