ABOUT ORGANIZING

SDS is organizing in cities all across Michigan (and the country). It is our intention to develop chapters that emphasize local autonomy, while providing SDSers the opportunity to link up for joint actions with students and community groups both here in the Great Lakes region and around the nation.

SDS is a decentralized group, but in order for decentralization to work, SDS emphasizes participation and action. SDSers organize in their own name. If you are looking to build an SDS presence on your campus and in your community, get a hold of us and indicate your desire to organize. Fellow SDS organizers from around the state will contact you and fill you in on SDS and provide details on how you can organize and link up with the rest of the state and, in turn, the nation. Its recommended that new people sign up with SDS (national). Be sure to hop on our mailing lists and communicate with us to make your presence in SDS known. If you want to organize with SDS, want more information about the organization, or need help linking up with a chapter near you, send a message to an organizer of your choosing:
